Jonathan Silverstein
Artist Bio
Jonathan Silverstein is a Long Island-based mixed-media artist whose work transforms paper into dimensional, sculptural compositions. Working primarily with individually cut, shaped and assembled paper forms, Silverstein uses repetition, layering, color and shadow to create intricate floral works, mosaics and reliefs that shift between abstraction and recognizable imagery.
After a career in journalism and communications, Silverstein returned to art and established JS Art & Design in Port Washington, New York. His recent work has increasingly explored scale and depth, pushing traditional paper craft techniques toward larger, more complex sculptural pieces.
In 2026, Silverstein received Second Place in Mixed Media at the Mary O. Fritchie Fine Art Show in Westhampton Beach. His work has been exhibited at juried art events throughout the region and is held in private collections.
Silverstein continues to develop new work from his Port Washington studio, exploring the possibilities of paper as both a structural and expressive medium.
