Residents Forward Online Art Auction. Featuring “Suburban Sanctuary” by Rachelle Krieger

Residents Forward is proud to present “Suburban Sanctuary,” a unique original oil painting by acclaimed Port Washington artist Rachelle Krieger. This special piece was painted en plein air during the Port Washington inaugural Art Walk at the Mural Garden — a vibrant celebration of creativity and community.

Bidding opened November 10, 2025, and closed November 20, 2025 at 9pm ET.
Starting bid: $300 (valued at $1,800). Minimum bidding increments of $25.  The highest bid by closing time wins.

    A graduate of Pratt Institute (BFA, 1989), Krieger also studied at the Art Students League and New York Studio School. Her works are held in numerous private and corporate collections, including Texas State Bank, the Ritz-Carlton DC, and The Westin New Orleans, and have been featured in TIME Magazine, MODERN Magazine, LI Pulse, and Newsday.

    Currently based in Port Washington, NY, Krieger is deeply involved in her local arts community — organizing open studios, curating exhibitions, lecturing, and serving for more than a decade on the Art Advisory Council for the Adler Gallery at the Port Washington Public Library.

    She finds inspiration in Long Island’s landscapes, painting at cherished sites such as Sands Point Preserve, Old Westbury Gardens, and Shu Swamp Preserve.
